Single beds are made to order, with or without storage drawers and trundle beds underneath.

Single beds for children, guests and PGs
A single bed takes a 36 × 72 inch (3 × 6 ft) or 36 × 75 inch mattress. It's the right choice for children from about four years old into their teens, guest rooms, study rooms and PG or hostel rooms. Taller adults should choose the 75-inch length.
Options
- Wooden single beds: panel or plain headboards, with or without storage drawers.
- Trundle beds: a second bed slides out from underneath for sleepovers and guests.
- Metal single cots: strong and economical; see iron cots.
- Three-quarter beds: 42 inches wide for a little more room.
Space and storage
In small rooms, drawers under a single bed replace a chest of drawers. Placing the bed along a wall frees floor space for a study table. Two single beds can also be pushed together as a king for flexibility.
