Beds take more stress than any other furniture

A bed carries two adults, a heavy mattress and years of nightly movement. Joints loosen, slats crack, the centre support sinks, and on storage beds the hinges and hydraulic pistons wear out. The good news: bed frames, especially wooden ones, are very repairable.

Bed problems we fix

• Creaking: loose joints, bolts or brackets, or slats rubbing on the rails.
• Sagging in the middle: missing or weak centre support, cracked slats or a bowed plywood base.
• Broken slats or platform: new slats or a new plywood base cut to size.
• Loose or wobbly headboard: re-fixing or reinforcing the headboard mounting.
• Box storage lids: broken hinges, warped lids, missing handles.
• Hydraulic beds: worn gas pistons that no longer hold the platform up.

Hydraulic bed piston replacement

On a hydraulic storage bed, two gas pistons lift the mattress platform. When they weaken, the platform won't stay up or is hard to lift, which can be dangerous. Pistons are rated by force; the right rating depends on the platform and mattress weight. We match and replace them, usually in one visit. Tip: very heavy mattresses wear pistons faster.

Cots, diwans and bunk beds

We also repair wooden and iron cots, diwans and bunk beds, including adding safety rails to bunk beds. If a bed is beyond repair, we make new beds to any size in our Narsingi workshop.
