Sliding doors save space
Hinged wardrobe doors need about 50–60 cm of clear floor space to swing open. In many Hyderabad bedrooms, the bed sits closer than that. Sliding wardrobe doors glide sideways on tracks, needing no swing space at all, so the wardrobe can sit right next to the bed or in a narrow passage.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| No door swing space needed | Only half (or a third) of the wardrobe opens at once |
| Large mirror doors make rooms look bigger | Tracks need occasional cleaning |
| Clean, modern look | Needs good-quality rollers for heavy doors |
Door finishes
Laminate in solid colours or wood looks, full-length mirrors, lacquered glass, or a combination such as a mirror centre panel. Soft-close dampers stop doors from slamming.
