Why the chair matters as much as the desk
Students and people working from home often sit for hours at a stretch. A poor chair leads to slouching, back ache and stiff shoulders; a good one keeps you comfortable and focused. The good news is that a comfortable study chair doesn't have to be expensive.
What to look for
- Adjustable height: feet flat on the floor, thighs roughly level with the seat.
- Back support: a backrest that supports the lower back (lumbar area).
- Breathable back: mesh backs stay cooler in Hyderabad's heat than foam backs.
- Seat depth: two or three fingers' gap between the seat edge and the back of the knees.
- Armrests: useful at a desk, but they must slide under it.
- Castors: soft wheels for tiled and marble floors.

Repairs, too
If your study chair keeps sinking, the gas lift has worn out. We can replace it; see gas lift replacement. Pair a chair with a study table.
