The classic folding nawar chair
Nawar is the flat woven cotton or synthetic strap traditionally used for charpai beds. In a nawar chair, these straps are woven over a light metal frame to form the seat and back. The result is a chair that's breathable, light, folds flat, and stays comfortable through long Hyderabad summers.
Why people love them
- Cool: air passes through the woven straps.
- Light: easy to carry to the balcony, terrace or a function.
- Folding: stores flat behind a door or under a bed.
- Firm: elders often prefer the firm, upright seat.
Our nawar chairs
Choose the red-and-grey strap chair with a reinforced powder-coated frame, or the bright yellow version. Both fold compactly and are available in bulk for functions, shops and offices.
Worn straps on an old nawar chair can be re-woven; see chair repair. See all folding furniture.
