Why choose an L-shaped sofa
An L-shaped sofa turns an unused corner into seating, seats more people in the same floor area than separate pieces, and creates a natural "zone" in open-plan living and dining rooms. With a chaise or deep corner, it's also the best sofa for lounging in front of the TV.
Left-hand or right-hand?
Stand facing the sofa. If the long return (the chaise or shorter arm of the L) is on your left, it's a left-hand L; on your right, it's a right-hand L. Decide based on where the TV, windows and doors are, and which way people walk past. Because we build to order, you choose the side and the length of each arm.
Sizing an L-shaped sofa
- Measure both walls from the corner and mark doors, windows, AC units and switchboards.
- Leave at least 75–90 cm of walking space in front.
- A compact L of roughly 210 × 150 cm suits most 2BHK living rooms; larger halls can take 270 × 210 cm or more.
- Ottomans (like the pair with our sectional) add flexible extra seating and tuck under a centre table.
Built in sections
We build large L-shaped sofas as sections that bolt together. They go up lifts and stairs easily, and the sections can be rearranged or separated if you move house.
Corner sofa comfort
The corner seat is where most L-shaped sofas feel awkward. We pay attention to the corner cushion depth so it's comfortable to sit in, not just a gap filler. If your L-shape has started to sag years later, our sofa repair team can replace the foam and webbing.
