Sofa foam is a sponge of tiny air cells. Every time you sit, the cells compress; over the years they break down and the foam stops springing back. The seat feels low, hard in the middle and soft at the edges, and you sink towards the frame. Cheap low-density foam can go flat in a couple of years; good high-density foam lasts much longer. Replacing the foam is often the single biggest comfort upgrade you can give an old sofa.
Choosing the right foam

Many seats work best as a combination: a firm HD core wrapped in a thinner soft layer and polyester wadding, so the cushion is supportive but not hard.
Check the springs and webbing too
If the sofa still sags with new foam, the problem is underneath: stretched webbing or a broken spring. We check this when we replace foam and fix it in the same job. See sofa repair.
How it works
WhatsApp photos of the cushions with their sizes. For loose cushions, the foam can often be replaced and the covers refitted. For fixed seats, we take the sofa to our Narsingi workshop.
