Learn moreA net that folds away
A pleated mosquito net uses a polyester mesh folded like an accordion. Drawn across, it covers the opening; pushed aside, it folds into a slim stack at the edge of the frame. Because the doorway is completely clear when the net is open, pleated nets are the most popular choice for balcony doors, main doors and kitchen doors that people walk through all day.
Why choose pleated
- Clear doorway when open, with no tripping on a frame or rail.
- Works on wide openings and French doors (single or double-sided).
- Low bottom track, easy to step over.
- Mesh is protected when folded, so it lasts longer.
Pleated or sliding?
For windows, a sliding net is usually simpler. For doors you walk through, pleated is more convenient. For openings that are rarely used, a fixed net or mesh door may be better. We'll recommend the right type for each opening when we measure.
Care
Keep the bottom track free of dust and sand, and draw the net by its handle rather than the mesh. Clean the mesh with a soft brush or damp cloth. Treated this way, pleated nets give years of daily use.
