Locked out of your almirah?
Steel almirahs (beros) and wooden wardrobes hold documents, jewellery and cash, so a jammed lock or lost key is urgent. Locks fail for simple reasons: a worn key, a broken spring inside the lock, a bent locking bar, or a door that has dropped on its hinges so the bolt no longer meets the catch.
What we do
- Opening a locked almirah when the key is lost or the lock has jammed.
- Lock replacement with a new lock and keys, for steel almirahs, wooden wardrobes, cupboards and drawers.
- Locker (inner safe) locks inside steel almirahs.
- Multi-point locking bars: straightening or replacing the rods that lock the top and bottom of the door.
- Door alignment: fixing dropped hinges so the lock closes smoothly again.
- Drawer and cupboard locks in desks, dressing tables and kitchen units.
Is it the lock or the door?
If the key turns but the door won't open or close, the door has often dropped and the bolt is catching. Fixing the hinges solves it without changing the lock. If the key won't turn at all, the lock itself is worn or broken. Send a photo of the lock and the door edge on WhatsApp, and we'll tell you which.
